ICONS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
In the early centuries, Christians presented Jesus as the Good Shepherd (frescoes in the catacombs). The icon shows Jesus carrying a sheep on his shoulders.
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father- and I lay down my life for the sheep.” (John 10:14-15, New International Version).
All our icons are made in the tradition of icon painting: wooden base is primed using old methods , with paintings using only natural pigments, gilded with gold leaf and according to icon-painting instructions.
Each icon has a story that leads us into a world of spirituality and faith.
Each icon is unique, with details and colours which may vary slightly.
